Last several decades, many studies have been reported on prosthodontics using porcelain which is esthetic materials. This porcelain has been used in denture porcelain teeth, porcelain laminate veneer, porcelain fused to metal crown and porcelain jacket crown.
The porcelain fused to metal crown is most porpular among these porcelain used prosthe tics. The porcelain of porcelain fused to metal crown may be fractured due to lack of adhesion between porcelain and metal, disharmony of thermal contraction, abnormal occlusion, careless treatment or wrong desi ?n, etc. Therefore, there have been many progress in restoration of fractured porcelain fused to metal crown.
There are several method in restoration of fractured porcelain fused to metal crown.
1. The porcelain fused to metal overcasting method.
2. The porcelain fused to metal pin retained casting method.
3. The method using composite resin.
4. The method using acrylic resin.
Among these many restorative methods, methods using light activated composite resin is comparatively easy to restore in patient mouth and can obtain esthetically good result.
